Civilization 7 release date announced
Firaxis Games has announced the release date for Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 and revealed new gameplay details at Gamescom 2024.
The game is scheduled to be released on February 11, 2025, after a long wait by fans of the series since the release of Civilization 6 in 2016.
The game will be released on multiple platforms at once, including PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
In terms of gameplay, Civilization 7 introduces some major changes. Instead of choosing a single historical leader to lead an empire across the centuries, the game lets players choose a new civilization at the beginning of each era, allowing them to build a civilization that builds on what they accomplished in the previous era.
The choices at the beginning of each era will vary based on the historical context and what players have achieved with their previous civilizations. The game includes three main time periods: the Ancient Age, the Age of Exploration, and the Modern Age. Players can also choose a scenario in which they play in only one era.
To add even more variety, the game allows historical leaders to be combined with unconventional geographical locations, opening up new and exciting situations for players to explore and create.
